A band performs for the runners

Still quite industrial; the scenery here inspires one to keep running - out of here.

Some walking now.

Yet another hill to be conquered.

Thanks for the support!

More industrial sights

An even two dozen miles completed. Love that psychedelic shirt to celebrate the moment; nothing else visually inspiring at this juncture.

But just beyond 24, back to the seaside and - boats!

and water....

Found the broken pier posts here visually interesting.

Busy commercial port entry

A nice surprise along the way - passing by San Francisco Giants baseball stadium

Let all know that there's a waterfront adjacent to Giants
stadium; must be nice at night, all lit up. Looks like 50th anniversary
of the Giants baseball team.

Ah, run under a steel bridge; reminds me of the Portland Marathon that I ran last year. Note Giant stadium to the right.

Now hundreds of yachts, moored next to the stadium area.

Heading back to the starting line along the Embarcadero; that's the Bay Bridge to Oakland.

A Kodak moment - hamming it up at 26 miles! No cramping again this time; must be the cooler weather and less humidity than in Hawaii.

The final stretch, again attention divided - both that of
cheering spectators as well as runners, as to which entry finishing lane to
take.
Note that the spectators DON'T KNOW whether an incoming runner is a half or full
marathon participant UNTIL they get pass that
sign pointing directions. I noted that when I went to right side there was
some applause, indicating there were some positioned specifically
to recognize the full marathoners once identified. Funny way to end a
marathon if you ask me.

There's the coveted Finish Line!!!!!! It's along the Bay and close to Mission Street.

Wonderful volunteers posted at the medal delivery point after the Finish Line. Don't want to stand in the wrong line!
NOW ON TO SEATTLE FOR THE
