Still in Audubon park

8 in the park

Sense Mardi Gras via the place's natural colors (green, yellow, purple)?

Leaving the park

Leaving the park; this water fountain and sculpture is at entrance to park.

Back on St. Charles, heading back the other way towards city central district. American spirit!

Again, St. Charles St. with its abundant mansions and street lined old trees.

Making their way towards Audubon park are the last 2 runners; I'm heading back in the direction of the cyclist.

There's 9. For this marathon, volunteers read off time at mile markers.

"Home Sweet Home" for some lucky descendents.

Great Southern living; magnolias are blooming even as tree leaves have fallen.

10 a done deal on St. Charles.

At 11, we move back into the business district of St. Charles

Old church undergoing renovation

Back on Poydras which intersects St. Charles; nearby my Drury hotel

Ah, back at the Superdome for a better lit shot. It's the half way mark so most of the runners stop off here at 13.1 miles.
4,500 ran the half marathon leaving only 2,000 of us to continue the trek to our chosen Finish Line.

To the right, fellow! Just keep running toward the overpass.

Start of the Second Half......
(It was Super Bowl Sunday... great game, Steelers victorious over the Cardinals by taking lead in last 35 seconds - TD reception by receiver Holmes as hit by defender Francisco)
