The Start at Wailuku

"Need a drink?"

4 mile mark

Beautiful early morn, sun just rising

6 miles and the sun is warming up the route

Open fields

Cattle in the distance

Reached the oceanfront on the southside of the island

Beginnings of the long coastal run to Lahaina

Many accents and without shading cover

Gorgeous coastal vistas

Watch the traffic

An aid station to help with the thirst

Keep hydrating at aid stations because there isn't any shade for miles

The parched landscape

11 miles; chain to keep rocks from rolling on top of the highway (and runners)

Love those cliffs that drop steeply to the ocean

At 12 miles you get to a tunnel that bores through the volcanic cliff

Coming to the light

Out the other end of the tunnel, at 13 miles

Tropical aid station

Beautiful beach

Famous Maui volcanic mountain ranges

At 15 miles, 11 to go

A resounding ensemble along the way

Keep on Running
